S-100: Basic Safety and Fire Suppression Training Course

Since June 2018, CRMC has been hosting a, one to two day, S-100: Basic Safety and Fire Suppression training course. Courses have been held each summer, with the seventh consecutive offering held this May of 2024! Certification can be gained and some past participants have gone on to work professionally with the BC Forest Service.
Held in Hanson Park, Cherryville, the course is a real hands on experience. Participants work with professional equipment and learn techniques to control flame and smoulder. Taught by the excellent folks at Rider Ventures Ltd. (www.ridervertures.ca), a thorough educational experience was had by all the enthusiastic participants. In 2023 there were 34 participants and in 2022, 44! CRMC covers the fees for residents of Cherryville and the surrounding areas. CRMC also provides a barbecue lunch for all who attend!
